Last summer when I was in San Francisco shooting a cookbook, I took an extra day to photograph my lovely friend Adele Strafford of Voices of Industry. We have a crazy story, in the fact that I knew Adele's sister Ann many many years ago. Ann used to be the pastry chef of a restaurant we worked at on St John in the Virgin Islands. I was only 19 years old, Ann newly graduated from CIA Greystone. I discovered Adele's work via Brian Ferry's gorgeous photos for their first lookbook. We soon realized our connection and were instantly bonded. I took a couple snaps of her studio awhile back and knew I had to go back to properly document it! Thanks Anthology and VOI! x
