I started my European "tour" if you will in Scotland ;) I was invited by my pal Emily Miller who worked with the tourism board to host the first ever Trends on Trends Breakfast Club in Glasgow. Her Breakfast Club's bring like minded creatives together to share stories and get to know each other over delicious breakfasts prepared by amazing chefs. We started our journey in Glasgow, with some serious jet lag and sleep deprivation we pulled through the first day. I am telling you booze is the way to go. Stay up till at least noon and then early afternoon start boozing. If you can stay up till ten you're golden. I'm getting better at it! The first day we got a tour of Drygate Brewing Co. by the lovely Chris Moriarty, great beer and delicious food. The following morning we had a traditional full Scottish breakfast at Cafe Gandolfi and an amazing lunch at Ox and Finch. The breakfast club was held at The Gannet with some truly amazing peeps. Big thanks to the ladies at Blue Bell Grey, we adore you so much! Thanks for inviting us into your beautiful colorful world. It was lovely meeting you Samuel!
After Glasgow we headed up to The Highlands to Monachyle Mohr which is a beautiful hotel perched on a mountain side in Perthshire. On the way we stopped at their sister restaurant Mhor Fish for some seriously good fish and chips. Love a good ol' chippy! We spent the evening indulging in a multi course meal at our beautiful hotel. It rained and I stayed close to the fire, my favorite. The Highlands are magical! Everything you would expect, lush and verdant. The weather is bipolar and goes through extreme changes in a matter of seconds. We visited with the Highland cows and tromped around the grounds. Im dying to go back and explore more of The Highlands, truly magical.
We spent the last couple days in Edinburgh. I extended an extra day to explore before heading to London. We had two fabulous dinners one at Timberyard and The Gardeners Cottage. Edinburgh is everything you expect a city in Scotland to be. A castle perched on the hill top, winding cobblestone roads, cute storefronts, a truly beautiful city. Its small and easy to get around. We stayed at the beautiful Nira Caledonia in New Town. Thank you so much to everyone involved. I cant wait to get back!
