Last month I was invited to Martha's Vineyard to attend Farm. Field. Sea for a weekend of culinary adventures. I stayed in Menemsha at the most beautiful Beach Plum Inn where Chris Fischer is the chef of the restaurant downstairs. Chris and his family own Beetlebung Farm nearby. The weekend started with a delicious pizza party in the backyard of the Beach Plum, Chris and the team installed a gorgeous outdoor wood oven this year. We sat by the fire, sipped on whiskey and ate deliciously charred pizzas made with all local ingredients. On Saturday morning we went down to the Menemsha Docks where we met with local fisherman and oyster farmer Nic Turner of Honeysuckle Oyster Farm. We visited North Tabor Farm for a tour of their farm and lunch outside. We spent the afternoon and evening back at Inn with a delicious multi course dinner with wine pairings from Thirst Wine Merchants. On Sunday morning we headed over to Grey Barn a dairy farm where we then had a cheese making class with Jacqueline Foster. It was a super fun filled and educational weekend. Thanks so much to all the people who were involved. Be sure to read more and check out Farm. Field. Sea.
